Hey,
This is going to be a helluva wild Sunday Post. The headquarters is flying with projects. The Billy Lane issue drew more response than Sturgis. We’ve got more projects. We’re beginning to talk about Bonneville 2010 before 2009 hits in a couple of weeks. Sin Wu suggested that we make the run to the flats to see what’s happening. I think she wants me to stand on the hot salt while she gambles in the Casinos in Wendover. We’ll see. I’m riding to Joshua Tree National forest with Dr. Hamster next week to perform a tech with the Chop N Grind Shop gang in a desert — hut. The good doctor’s ’89 FLH gets crappy mileage, but what the hell. He has over 200,000 miles on his rattling dresser. We’ll bring you all the action the following week. Let’s hit the news, then I’ll explain everything the staff did wrong for next week. Hang on:

NEWS ON REACHING OUT TO BILLY LANE– At this time Billy is in the Brevard County Jail awaiting transportation to the Florida prison induction center.
When he arrives he will be assigned a Florida Department Of Corrections number. The DOC number dictates how he will be known while in the prison system. Until he is issued that number contacting his is pretty much a lost cause.
He will be at the induction center for evaluation and then sent to a permanent institution. When he gets to his permanent institution we will be notified how to contact him. When we have that information it will be shared.
In the mean time keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is a strong person and will be fine.

ABOUT THE BILLY LANE HEARING FROM ROGUE– I am going to make some statements to clarify some of the issues here. I suspect they will upset some of you but they are facts. Shortly after that I will be writing my article for National Motorcycle Publications about what happened in court. Just for the record I was in Court and observed everything.
First of all Gerald Morelock was Drunk and had Pot in his system when he pulled out on to A1A and Caused The Collision That Took His Life. This is fact and through some legal maneuvering by the prosecution this was not allowed to be discussed during the court proceedings. This does not excuse Billy from speeding and passing cars, But It was Morelock who killed himself, and Billy was the tool he used, and I am not saying he did it on purpose either BUT lets put the blame where it really belongs.
Bill Lane has reached out to the Morelock Family since the incident and always has taken full responsibility for his actions face to face with the Morelock Family and they accepted that and were also in court to testify and request he not receive excessive time. The Morelock family has always known Gerald?s condition and actions on the night he died.
Those of you that have criticized Billy for not taking responsibility in the press prior to his court hearings are fools. There is a State Prosecutor Tom Brown who was looking to make a name for himself and using Billy as a means to do so. By stopping the information of Morelock being drunk and under the influence of pot and the fact he pulled out of a driveway into traffic, it was very clear to many how he was going to proceed with this case. If you are destined to face a fair trial, then all the facts should be brought forward, not just the ones that are good for your side of the argument. The defense was not allowed to mention Morelock?s condition and or actions prior to the collision that took his life. Out of respect to the Morelock?s family Billy and his attorneys did not push that matter.
The prosecutor kept referring to Billy as a celebrity and commented on other cases that received light sentences elsewhere in the state and that it was sending the wrong message to people. I was aware a celebrity sports figure in South Florida Donte Stallworth of the Cleveland Browns had recently been sentenced to 30 days in jail and did 26 for a DUI that involved a death.
When I questioned a law enforcement person from the area about it he mentioned that Stallworth was African-American. It had never dawned on me prior to that statement that race could be an issue. I for one do not understand the big difference in sentencing. The law is a Florida State Law and Not a County Law, and again Gerald Morelock?s conditions and actions that lead to his death should have a major impact on the case.

RODAN REPORT FROM BONNEVILLE SPEED WEEK– It was a good meet. We had problems with the serpentine belt drive to the blower. We literally smoked the belt every time we got on to boost. Ran 168 before it went away, at only 4000 rpm, just starting to run right. Spent most the week running tech and fixing the car, only to smoke the next belt, three total. Learned a lot, so it wasn’t a waste. The salt was great, tons of records set. Good to be home, tho.

BIKERNET MOVIE REVIEW– My girlfriend and I were making love last night when she looked up at me and said “Make love to me like in the movies”.
So I turned her over on all fours, stuck it in her butt, pulled out, flipped her back over and came all over her face and hair.
I guess we don’t watch the same movies.

COMMENT ON BILLY’S SENTENCING– That?s been said thousands of times. Now a biker in a truck kills and a biker and the courts send him to jail and ?Brevard County Courts Suck!!!!!? I know he?s friend of the folks at the website, but that doesn?t make sense.
The world looks a lot better through a set of handlebars.

AUSTRALIAN BIKERNET READER GENERATES NEW WATER SAVING TECHNOLOGY– Slaughterhouse’s tip top drop as water is separated from blood and fat Article from: Harold Sun.
WOULD you drink water that came from the waste pit of an abattoir?
A Melbourne company has developed a way to separate water from the blood and fat that make up 70 per cent of the contents of the pit.
The result is more pure than a lot of drinking water, according to the system’s creator, Ray Russell, who owns the technology through his Mornington company Liquid Separation. He happily downs litres of the water it produces.
“It actually tastes better than tap water because it has had all of the bad stuff taken out of it,” Mr Russell said.
He said the system works by breaking the bond between the water and the other substances.
“Water bonds to most things but particularly well to blood because it is so sticky,” he said.
His system uses an electro-chemical process that changes the properties of fluids, gases and organic matter.
“It kills and takes out all of the bacteria in the water,” he said.
“We then put it through a second filtration system just to make sure we have got everything out of it.”
Mr Russell has done trials at many abattoirs and said it has the potential to provide huge water savings.
Next week he will hold a trial at an abattoir that tips 150,000 litres of waste water an hour down the drain, costing $130,000 to $140,000 a month.
Mr Russell believed his system could reduce the amount of water wasted at the plant to zero.

SVEN SPEED WEEK REPORT– We just got back from Bonneville Speed Week (as all the salt leftovers show..) were we ran our B/09 unofficially 75mph. Bike is build off a 1973 Honda XL 175.

We ran out of time and money to get the bike going officially. It was more impotant to get the truck done in time. It was my first year Bonneville and it was awesome! I am positive that I will run a bike next year!

FROM THE BIKERNET BLONDE VAULT– Did you hear about the two blondes who froze to death in a drive-in movie? They had gone to see ‘Closed for the Winter.’

THE UNCLE MONKEY DOCTRINE, A FIRST RIDE DISCUSSION– The first ride. Most of us remember it with awe and amazement. The first time that that our pops rolled the mini bike out from the shadows. The first time we laid our eyes on that machine we felt a calling. The road beckoning us to head out: to find our own direction. We stumbled; sometimes fell but we soon master the foreign throttle, clutch, shift, brake combination.
It was then that the open road was ours as the small clouds of dust rose as we sped down the dirt lanes to our destiny. The first ride, the first true ride when we no longer needed our parents ever-watchful eye, watching, encouraging. Like young deer we took those first few steps into ?manhood.”
It is something that we always carry with us inside. The first time we ride a new motorcycle, the first time we ride out on a road trip. It is still there. The rush of emotion, the anticipation, the apprehension. It reminds of us why we love this sport so much.
It was something that I couldn?t quite put my finger on. Something that lingered in the back of my mind whenever I took a bike I just completed out for that first ride. The anticipating, the excitement, a little bit of apprehension. That was until the other day when I took my wife out for her very first solo ride on her bike that it all started making sense. It was only a deserted parking lot and her bike is far from the shining paint and chrome of my Harleys. But there she was. Alone on her very own bike, letting the clutch out for the very first time. Coughing and sputtering, not always successful, but always persistent. A smile from ear to ear, a gleam in her eye.
My wife had spent many years riding behind me as we across this land, discovering new places, new people but this was the first time that she was the rider, the one who was in control, the one guiding her own destiny. Soon she was making grand circles in the parking lot. The little Honda CM250 kicking up the dust as she tried giving a little more gas. Practicing starting and stopping, figuring out the right combination of throttle, clutch and brake to tame the mechanical beast that she was riding for the first time. I watched from the sidelines. Watching the excitement on her face when she got it right. Encouraging her when she got it wrong. The first ride, the first of many.
