BIKERNET SUNDAY POST -EPA MADNESS, RUSSIAN WOMEN RIDERS, LETTERS TO BILLY LANE, BEVERLY HILLS BIKER BABES, SEAT PANS, GUN LAW REMINDERS AND GIRLS

devil girl - russell roberts

Hey,

There’s a movement afoot that’s uncomfortable, to say the least. Granted the custom industry in America has had a long, free run and we’ve handled it well, but now society has turned on us once again. We’re outlaws again.

The EPA regs are breathing hard on our industry and there’s two solutions that have been recently thrown into the mix. The MIC is promoting EPA certified engines that would allow you to build as many bikes as you like. The MRF is pushing for an anti-compliance fine for small shops and home endeavors. This would allow small shops to rebuild, build and modify engines by paying a fine. Actually, motorcycles, and especially custom motorcycles contribute a hair of a percentage of the overall emissions annually. It’s ridiculous amount of bureaucratic endeavors and legislation for a knat’s ass of emissions.

I have one more bitch, more harmful to our lifestyle than even EPA regs. I’ll touch on it at the end of the news. Let’s hit it:

PARIS AND NICOLE START MOTORBIKE GANG

NICOLE RICHIE have moved on to a new venture following their reality TV success – as the founding members of a motorbike gang.

The sexy socialites, who scored a hit with their reality show THE SIMPLE LIFE, are now the new faces of customised bike makers BEVERLY HILLS CHOPPERS – and they’re looking for more girls to join them in their offshoot gang, the BEVERLY HILLS ANGELS. Beverly Hills Choppers was founded last year (03), after ROD STEWART’s daughter KIMBERLY got herself into a red carpet mishap on one of the company’s creations.

And while their eye-catching ride past the press was supposed to generate publicity and create a buzz, Stewart sparked a slew of press headlines when she lost control of the bike after starting it up and fell to the ground.

Fratto was delighted with the coverage and gave Stewart a custom-built chopper with a tiger design, while Hilton received a leopard skin-inspired bike.

JESSICA SIMPSON is being eyed as a new gangmember, after expressing her desire to own a yellow and green RIPE BANANA model of the chopper, which she saw in the window of a Los Angeles boutique. Bosses of the company now hope to recruit such stars as PAMELA ANDERSON and CARMEN ELECTRA as models for the bikes.

Elena

Future Bikernet Features

I just got finished speaking to Elena via email. I asked her if I could do an interview with her via email about her biking adventures and Chernobyl stuff and she said that would be great. Now there are sites on the Net that say that her story about Chernobyl is not true. I have looked at them all very closely.

A woman named Rimma (who works for the Urkraine Goverment) reckons Elena went into the Dead Zone in a Goverment car along with her hubby. On an offical and paid for tour. One time only. Which does not explain how the pics are taken at diff times in the day and night and also the fact that Elena is wearing diff clothes in many of the pictures. Elena says obviously the reason she is wearing diff clothes is because she was there more than once; as she has already tried telling people.

She also admits she often bypassed checkpoints, the Dead Zone includes minor tarred roads and dirt tracks through the forest. The Rimma woman has never been able to back up her story at all. She has no pics of Elena, no document ID details, the guards at the major checkpoint have not been able to produce a rego number of the car or the occupants. I don’t think they would just let anyone drive thru without recording their details.

I think Elena has failed to mention in her story that she bribed the guards. They get 5 dollars a day in US terms. I am inclined to believe Elena’s version of the story until someone comes up with concrete proof otherwise!

I don’t think Elena, the russian biker gal will go for the hall of fame idea, we have emailed a few times now and I have already discovered she is a very private person. Damn modest also. But she is willing to do an interview (cause I am so cute and charming, natch) because she loves bikes and hopes more people will read her horror story of Chernobly and that hopefully if enough people around the world start asking questions and not let the subject die, maybe they will get their finger out and re-think nuclear power, and even fix the crumbling tomb that is now leaking radiation out again.

She told me the Ukraine wants to build 12 nuclear plants this year(s) coming…using the same plan as the Chernobly; one cause they say it’s a real safe design. I mean for fucks sake!!!

Laterz: Jaq.

This is just one of the stories about to be launched. There’s much more coming to the surface about the EPA efforts, including Art’s article about the MRF efforts. The V-Rod road test is nearly complete. We have a CD music review from Glenn in Australia, and the famous Barber Muesum ride. That’s just the articles I’m working on today. Hang on.–Bandit

64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday

The attacks on gun owners, smokers, drinkers, and motorcyclists are getting to me. Here’s some humor, but it’s not funny. I’d like to see a billboard showing a Toyota (instead of a cigarette smoker) and the notion that it kills 100,000 people a year. Hell, 79 people are killed in year in a small suburb of Los Angels due to drugs and gang activity. That’s more than all the deaths on motorcycles over several states annually.

There is no man so good, who, were he to submit all his thoughts and actions to the laws, would not deserve hanging ten times in his life. -Michel de Montaigne, essayist (1533-1592)

FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE

2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

3. Colt; The original point and click interface.

5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?

Girlfriend Safety Warning

You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside. You start the engine and shift into REVERSE, You look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.

You shift into PARK, unlock your doors, jump out of your car and walk to the rear to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of no where, jump into your car and take off! Your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

Guess what ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car…

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

Just drive away. Remove the paper that is stuck to your window later. A purse contains all of your identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

TURBO YOUR HARLEY BANNER

Bonneville Report And New Fuel Injection System

I’ve tried to reach Bob George, the man who designed and built the original Easyriders Streamliner that still holds the Motorcycle World Land Speed Record, and I’m still looking for another number for him. The ones I have now are these: 909 487-0145, 909 658-0173, 909 658-1073. I’ve been trying to get a hold of Dave Campos, the ER pilot, who probably has the real number. Dave’s number is: 505 256-0053.

I will have a fuel injection system available to you within the next ten days so you can use it on your Bonneville run. I’ll call you to set up a meeting to show it to you and explain it’s operation. In the meantime please go to http://www.performancefi.com , when you have time, this will give you a good understanding of the ease of tuning. I’m going to the Easyriders Bike Show, Sunday, the Dyno Drag is running (thanks to myself and stu) hope to see you there.

How Not To Get Laid

I got a phone call from a gorgeous ex-girlfriend the other day. We lost track of time, chatting about the wild, romantic nights we used to enjoy together. I couldn’t believe it when she asked if I’d be interested in meeting up and rekindling a little of that “magic.”

“Wow!” I said. “I don’t know if I could keep pace with you now. I’m a bit older and a bit balder than when you last saw me!”

She just giggled and said she was sure I’d “rise” to the challenge.

“Yeah” I said, “just so long as you don’t mind a man with a waistline that’s a few inches wider these days!”

She laughed and told me to stop being so silly. She teased me, saying that tubby bald men were cute, and she was sure I would still be a great lover.

“Anyway,” she giggled, “I’ve put on a few pounds myself!”

So I told her to fuck off and hung up.

B.A.D.D. Marks 20th Year With Unique Fundraising Events Across North America

Worlds Biggest Custom Bike Giveaway, World Records Planned As Part of North American Celebrations Daytona, FL/Toronto, ON – Jan. 5th, 2006: To celebrate its 20th consecutive year as North America’s leading motorcycle charitable organization, B.A.D.D. (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) today announced plans for a series of unique fundraising events for 2006.

“We felt we should do something special to celebrate,” says Danny Perkins, B.A.D.D.’s Founder and Executive Director. “We’ve grown so much, thanks largely to our friends and supporters in the motorcycle world, so we’re going all out this year with a series of cool events that will generate a lot of excitement while creating even greater awareness of the seriousness of this issue.”

Central to the program will be an expansion of the World’s Largest Custom Bike Giveaway, which to date has seen numerous lucky recipients from the US and Canada win customized motorcycles associated with rock celebrities such as David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne and ZZ Top.

“We’ll be kicking off the new Custom Bike Giveaway, our largest ever, early in the new year,” says Perkins. “Best of all, it’s being set up so that local groups, whether motorcyclists, school groups or service clubs, can get involved to help their favourite charities, too.”

Under the new World’s Largest Custom Bike Giveaway program, participating groups can choose to share the proceeds of funds they’ve raised with B.A.D.D. and a charity of their choice.

“Let’s face it, drinking and driving affects everyone,” says Perkins. “It’s an epidemic in North America that’s got to be stopped, and if we can get the message out by helping community groups raise funds at the same time, then we’ll have succeeded in our mandate.”

Perkins, who started B.A.D.D. after losing a brother to a drunk driver (he was himself seriously injured in the accident), says that 25,000 people in North America are killed each year due to drunk drivers, leaving families struggling not only with the loss of a loved one, but also financially. Consequently, B.A.D.D.’s mandate includes the creation of an emergency fund for victims of drunk drivers while they await compensation or where no compensation is forthcoming.

In addition to the expanded Custom Bike Giveaway, B.A.D.D. has also announced plans for a series of other motorcycle-related events, including:

? Setting a never before attempted Golf World Record involving motorcyclists during the Myrtle Beach Bike Week in May, 2006

? Setting records for the World’s Largest Motorcycle Parade in both Myrtle Beach and in Toronto, as well as similar events specific to particular motorcycle brands and models at key rallies and gatherings across Canada and the US

? The First Annual B.A.D.D. Celebrity Golfathon, a series of local motorcycle-themed golf tournaments to be held across North America, culminating in a celebrity championship held during the Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally in October, 2006

To promote these exciting events, as well as the Custom Bike Giveaway, B.A.D.D. is working closely with key retail developers to set up displays in major malls across the continent in order to reach a broader audience.

“After 20 years assisting people affected by drunk drivers, we’ve seen a real change in the attitude towards bikers,” says Perkins. “Today’s motorcycle enthusiast is as likely to be a grandparent as they are a couple who love getting together with other likeminded folks. A biker today is simply anyone with a set of wheels.”

B.A.D.D. is a non-profit registered organization (Federal Charitable Registration Number 890679343RR0001) with offices in Montreal and Toronto, Canada; and Daytona Beach and Glendale, in the U.S.

INSIDE THE BANDIDOS MOTORCYCLE CLUB, THE LARGEST BIKER GANG IN THE WORLD

Tulsa, OK — January 1, 2006 – Rapidly rising through the ranks of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club in the late 90’s, Edward “Connecticut Ed” Winterhalder was one of the most powerful Bandidos in the world at the end of the twentieth century.

Since founding the Oklahoma chapter of the Bandidos in early 1997, “Connecticut Ed” had been regularly assigned important projects by the worldwide leader of the Bandidos, George Wegers. It was not unusual for Winterhalder to organize and establish new Bandido chapters, as well as Bandidos support club chapters, all over the world.

But when assigned the unwanted responsibility of overseeing the Bandidos’ assimilation of a Canadian motorcycle gang known as the Rock Machine in early 2001, “Connecticut Ed” found himself caught between a rock and a hard place.

Teaching ex-Rock Machine members how to be Bandidos was one thing, but doing so while dodging bullets and bombs was another. The new Canadian Bandidos, as members of the Rock Machine, had been embroiled in a deadly war with the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club in which 168 people had died since 1994.

Commonly known as hard core biker gangs, the inner workings of motorcycle clubs such as the Bandidos, the Hells Angels, the Outlaws, the Pagans, the Sons of Silence, and the Mongols have until now been a closely guarded secret.

Determined to set the record straight after leaving the club in late 2003 and as a form of therapy, Winterhalder spent almost two years transcribing the memories of his life. Ultimately, his memoirs evolved into a dynamic book called “OUT IN BAD STANDINGS: Inside The Bandidos Motorcycle Club – The Making Of A Worldwide Dynasty”.

Detailing the establishment and growth of the Bandidos organization in Canada, Europe and Oklahoma, this historical expose of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club gives the reader a rare look into the world of today’s 1%er motorcycle gangs, allowing the reader a unique opportunity to ride along as the Bandidos become the dominant international force they are today.

Published by Blockhead City Press ($29.95), this 448 page hardcover book contains more than 150 color photographs and sports a dynamic dust cover jacket. “Out In Bad Standings” is available through Barnes & Noble bookstores in the United States, Amazon.com worldwide, Ebay.com worldwide & some Chapters bookstores in Canada, and is a must read for every Harley rider on the planet.

Call For The Trike Gods

If you’re going to have a wreck it’s gonna be 3 blocks from the house, wrong it was 4. Bitch stopped at the sign, looked both ways and pulled out right in front of me !

Second bike wreck in 50 years. I was trying to un-ass the scooter. I did something smart this time. I let them call the ambulance, seeing as how she had her phone already in her ear!

The scooter is at Snake’s Shop (remember “Texas Heat” from him at the Texas rally), he says, “aw the scooter ain’t busted up that bad.”

Gotta say, for all the ragging about cops, they were there in less than 5 mins and same with the ambulance. One bike cop called my wife and Snake’s shop to come and get the scooter (hell, he even knew Snakes phone #).

All in all just a broke foot and road rash. Momma is pissin’ an moaning about selling the 2 wheeler and fixin up the 3 wheeler. Oh year, here are the pics of the trike we talked about last email.. This was taken after we won best trike at the bike show at the local biker bar back in the mid 80’s.

Well crap, time for a pain pill, later.. “ride safe” and watch out for wimmin with cell phones in there ears close to home!

darcy - soldier in gear

I am writing because tonight I was in the Command Operations Center (COC) and found the October issue of Hot Bike. I was thumbing through it and found the article about the bike you did for Mike Ferrusi. WOW. I was amazed. I was proud to see a person of your status taking time to do a generous act like that. I know a few people in the bike biz (Performance Machine and West Coast Choppers) and what you did is not very common. It makes me proud to see selfless acts like that.

I actually reenlisted over here and I am planning to buy a bike with my reenlistment bonus when I get home.

Take care and good luck.

There, other groups will be meeting to ride to the capitol in force with no helmets at 9:00am. Another group from Contra Costa will leave from Burger King in Park and Shop in Concord, at 10:00 am, and will ride right to the capitol with no helmets. All brands of motorcycles and helmets are welcome. If bad weather let’s meet and carpool. The last I heard we had 7 of the 8 votes we needed to make it out of committee.

Our helmet bill will be heard and voted on Jan 10th at 1:30 in the Senate Transportation Committee and we would like to pack the room with bikers.

We are not having any rally. We are not having any Seminars, or Legislative gatherings, parties, etc. The hope is that people will come early to talk to the legislators and their staff members in their offices before we go to committee. Someone will be available in the basement coffee seating area from 9:30 am on to provide information regarding the members of the committee, and some “fact sheets” to use in your discussions…The hearing is scheduled to start at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Clearing The Russian Record

Guys: Type Mondo Enduro into a search engine and see what you find. I told you Ewan and Charley were full of shit when they said they are the first ones to do the UK/Russia/USA/UK trip. Mondo Enduro proves it!

I even read how the Mondo guys struggled like hell to get across a 300 mile section of swamp in Siberia…strangely enough Ewan and Charley took that section by train…but how did they know they would need to? Unless they already saw this movie and just “forgot” to tell us.

I just discovered this website, Lin just saw this young Aussie guy on TV. His misadventures are hilarious. He may be tougher than the average bike rider…by a high percentage. http://www.loston.com/V2/default.htm

It’s worth noting that he has little sponsorship, and no back up crew assisting him. That’s real adventure biking.

And here is an interesting little site (God knows how I find them) Speed crazed Euro bikers doing mountain passes at Warp Speed with camera mounted on one of the bikes. Lots of free movies about 8 minutes each. Worth watching just so your readers can see what it’s really like to go very fast on curves and corners. Tell them their cruisers will NOT be able to perform like the sports bikes in these movies! http://www.roadmc.com

I think I have found my next bike, only prob is it wont be out until 2007. The newly designed Ducati Hyper-Motard. 1000cc’s of power in a Super-Motard racing frame, that’s gotta be good for riding to work on! Looks great too, at http://www.ducati.com Laterz mate: Jaq.

Stripper, Bikers At Center Of DMV Charges

Nilton Filho dropped $1,500 on a dancer named “Mariana” he met at a Bridgeport strip club in August 2003. It wasn’t sex Filho was after though.

Court records released Wednesday show the illegal favor that he obtained was a fraudulent Connecticut driver’s license.

Mariana, whose real name is Elaine Lopez, and seven others – including former DMV employees – were arrested last month by a state police task force investigating the illegal issuing of Connecticut driver’s licenses, often to illegal immigrants.

The arrest warrant affidavit shows that less than a week after their meeting, Filho met the exotic dancer in the parking lot of the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Bridgeport. He handed over the cash and walked away with the license – without producing identification or taking the required driver’s test.

The records provide a window into the lucrative and far-reaching scheme. They show that authorities believe some of the conspirators used proceeds to take trips to exotic locales and buy fancy cars. In one case, investigators say a former DMV worker bought so many shoes with the cash she made from selling bogus licenses that she needed to rent a storage facility to hold them.

Filho, who has not been charged, got one of nearly 1,200 illegal licenses that investigators believe were issued out of the Bridgeport office in a 30-month period from June 2002 to December 2004. In more than a year, investigators have only been able to account for 450 of those licenses.

The records provide no details of why Filho wanted a bogus license. But they do describe a well-oiled organization that included limited members of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle club, who police say recruited illegal immigrants as customers for the DMV employees through Lopez.

The records show individuals from Danbury, East Haven, New Haven, several Fairfield County towns and Queens, N.Y., were among those who obtained fraudulent licenses. They also suggest that at least two fugitives wanted in other states may be avoiding capture by using Connecticut driver’s licenses they obtained using phony names.

So far, four former Department of Motor Vehicles employees have been arrested, but court records show at least two more former or current employees from the Bridgeport office may have participated in the scam.

Billy Lane’s Blood Sweat & Gears Tour, Sponsored by Bikernet.com, Wraps up 2005 with Walter Reed Hospital Visit in Washington DC

Billy Lane founder of Choppers Inc in Melbourne, FL and cable television star plans grand finale stop of 2005 Blood Sweat & Gears Tour at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. “I am really looking forward to meeting the soldiers and thanking them personally for their sacrifices. What they do is amazing” explained Lane.

The Blood Sweat & Gears Tour concept was developed by Lane as his way of thanking active and veteran soldiers for his freedom to live a dream life in America. “I was already on the road attending major rallies across the country, living my dream. I attended those events as a vendor. At each I was able to meet thousands and thousands of people, but knew there had to be a way to do more and give something back. I thought it would be cool if I could do what I love- building motorcycles while doing something for others” said Lane.

“I am fortunate enough to have a lot of military people interested in my bikes and work. These people reach out to me via email and letters by the hundreds weekly, so that was the answer. Involve the soldiers that fight for our freedom with the build process. The Blood Sweat & Gears Tour, sponsored by Bikernet.com, made 6 stops in 2005 at each stop Billy Lane and other guest builders like Paul Cox, Kendall Johnson, Aaron Greene and Mondo worked on a bike that was then given away to military service person. From Daytona to Laughlin, Myrtle Beach, Laconia, Sturgis and back to Daytona again each stop ended with a wicked burn-out done on the newly finished bike that was then handed over, no strings attached to someone in the military. At Biketoberfest, the build was done in memory of fallen soldier Brandon Sapp. His entire family was present throughout the build and then amazingly after receiving the bike on stage from Billy Lane “re-gifted” it to Timothy McClellan, Brandon’s best friend and fellow soldier.

“This is what it’s all about. Worth every penny and ounce of work put into the Tour.” said Lane. “It took a lot of planning, hard work and money, but I am so proud to be able to do this for people. I couldn’t do it without the support of so many. There were a few groups that came up to the plate to support the Tour, without them, there would be no Tour. Groups like House of Kolor, Activision, Dodge, Bikernet.com, Carolina Harley-Davidson, TP Engineering, Custom Chrome and my dedicated crew at Choppers Inc. Not to mention the guys that made it happen with me on stage; Paul Cox, Kendall Johnson, Aaron Greene, Mondo and other builders that raised their hand to help at every stop along the way.

“I wish everyone that got a taste of the Tour could be with me at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center on January 13th, but I know that is not possible. I hope they each make an effort to do their part- their own way in supporting our troops” finished Lane.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center is the Army’s largest healthcare facility, and one of the largest in the Department of Defense. We have more than 600,000 visits a year to our main hospital and its satellite clinics.

The organization is named in honor of MAJ Walter Reed, an Army physician who discovered in the early part of this century that mosquitoes transmit yellow fever. His discovery brought about the protection of workers from mosquitoes in tropical climates. That, in turn, made possible the building of the Panama Canal. MAJ Reed was a pioneer in medical research, and WRAMC continues his tradition today.

WRAMC began operations in 1909 as an 80-bed facility called Walter Reed General Hospital. The original hospital, also known as building 1, is still in use today as an administration building. The current 260-bed Walter Reed Army Medical Center opened its doors in 1978. The main installation has 113 acres and is four acres larger than the Vatican, an independent nation.

Walter Reed is a gateway to the world for medical care. As a referral center for the northeast United States and Europe, it receives some of patients through an Armed Forces aeromedical evacuation network.

THERE’S ANOTHER BATTLE SIMMERING–I love to discuss sex, girls, bikes and rides. Okay, sometimes whiskey creeps into the conversation. Then Rob sent me an e-mail about some community organization coming down on loud bikes. I have a thing about freedom, the notion that our country was based on. It’s simple, yet demands that we act responsibly. I believe in being able to do what you want but handle it with class.

For instance, if you smoke, that’s up to you. I don’t like all these bullshit laws against smokers. I don’t like all the bullshit laws against drinking. It’s all getting ridiculous. If you get drunk and run over a kid, you should get your ass kicked, but current laws are over the top, and they keep coming. Above a guy mentions that he lost a brother to a drunk driver. I lost a brother to electrocution. Should we outlaw electricity?

Let me jump at this point quick. Rob sent me a flyer about Citizens taking their communities back from Bikers. Fries my ass. Just the notion is ridiculous. Bikers are Citizens. Should we take the community back from cars that take up too much space or screaming kids. What the fuck? Loud pipes do save lives. They’re our only defense against cell-phone talking nuts, who run us down. Should we regulate stereos in cars?

It’s driving me to Whiskey. Let’s go do something wild, if it hasn’t been outlawed. Jesus. At some point this notion of having the government protect us from everything that annoys or is harmful has got to stop.

Ride Forever,

Bikers Beware

Citizens are Taking the Community Back
We have the right to peace in our environment

Motorcycles are an enjoyable and purposeful machine when operated properly. What makes them noisy is when riders remove or modify the muffler tailpipe to make them louder. The rationale is that loud pipes attact the attention of distracted motorists on the road. This type of modification is illegal in most states.

Bikers who ride around in big noisy machines enjoy the attention they get, particularly from annoyed passersby. They see themselves as freespirited rebels following their own rules. They are not outlaws, they are overbearing. The intense roaring vibrational noises can travel long distances through windows and walls. The noise is nerve shattering to adults and frightening to young children. This type of noise pollution is a blight to communities across the United States.

We are a united coalition of citizens, elected representatives, researchers, law enforcement professionals, and activists from the United States and abroad. We are dedicated to combating this urban blight that is ruining communities everywhere.

How to deal with neighbors with noisy motorcycles who disturb you.

Bikers often claim that ?loud pipes save lives,? yet the American Motorcyclist Association opposes excessive motorcycle noise and supports quiet motorcycle use.

Inexperienced and aggressive bikers often cause accidents and fatalities on the road endangering you and your family.

Harley-Davidson uses smarmy American patriotism to market motorcycles and performance parts, such as ?Screaming Eagle.?
